The company
bgroup is a new performance company established by choreographer Ben Wright. Best known for his acclaimed performance work with the likes of Stan Won’t Dance, Ricochet, Adventure in Motion Pictures, and London Contemporary Dance Theatre.
As a choreographer working internationally in Opera and Theatre as well as in contemporary dance, Ben has set up bgroup not only as a ‘home’ for his own creative work but also as an initiative with a flexible identity. One that in response to the nature of potential projects and ideas can support the inclusion of a shifting range of performers and embrace collaborations with individuals from different creative fields.

The assembly
3 reasons for moving is a compelling collection of three beautifully crafted works: The explosive men’s quartet Thought Latching onto thought and pulling (originally commissioned for the 2006 Place prize with a score by Tim Sutton) and the riveting duet Passing, strange and wonderful, are presented alongside a new quintet: The Diminishing Present.*
The mind, the heart and community in turn, become studies for the company’s
five outstanding performers; Neb Abbot, Robert Clark, Delphine Gaborit, Keir Patrick, and Matthew Winston.
All three works are lit by Guy Hoare and costumed by Theo Clinkard.
