The company
Jasmin Vardimon Company was founded in London in 1997 (previously Zbang) and rapidly rose to become a significant element within the British dance theatre scene. The company is dedicated to the choreography of Artistic Director, Jasmin Vardimon, Associate Artist of Sadler's Wells since 2006. Renowned for her uniquely theatrical choreographic and directorial style combining physical theatre, quirky characterisation, innovative technologies, text and dance, Vardimon accentuates her work with an acute observation of human behaviour. The company has performed at various festivals both nationally and inter-nationally, touring to high profile theatres across the world. Its repertoire includes: Justitia, Park, Lullaby, Ticklish, Lure Lure Lure, Madame Made and Therapist.

The assembly
The performance for Caravan 2008 presented an extract from Jasmin Vardimon’s new work in progress, entitled YESTERDAY. The full production will premiere at Brighton Dome in September 2008 followed by a major UK tour.
In celebration of the company’s tenth anniversary, Yesterday is a retrospective new work featuring some of the most breathtaking duets, striking solos and iconic moments selected from the company's repertoire, reprised with new choreography and integrated multi-media.
Contrasting flashes of daring athleticism with moments of touching beauty, YESTERDAY interweaves scenes of intimate and vulnerable tenderness with provocative and playful choreography, remaining as stirring and socially relevant as ever. |
