StopGAP’s four charismatic performers, have been together since 2002 and this relationship infects the dance with a closeness, humanity and a willingness to take movement to the edge.

The assembly
StopGAP gave a flavour of new work “Portfolio Collection” – a dance of serene chaos, sinister loveliness and shocking beauty.
With music ranging from Tarantino-style sounds to a Spanish lament (to a dead dog!) it is an exhilarating mixture of rugged male duets by Hofesh Shechter; edgy, contorted power duets by Gary Clarke and a floral finale by Rob Tannion (Stan Won’t Dance) where hearts are broken and lovers are tamed as the dancers journey on the quest for love. “StopGAP are a joyous burst of technicolor, and through this triumphant, energetic affirmation had me questioning my own attitudes”
