Introductory day
Farnham Maltings, Surrey

This initial one day meeting was for the 22 selected companies who will be presenting at the assembly at Brighton Festival.
The attendees were given an overview of the caravan programme as well as a ‘reality check’ with regards to working internationally. The caravan mentors Gary Hills (ITC) and Andrews Jones (British Council) were among the speakers.
Visiting Arts DCMS roadshow

On behalf of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and in partnership with regional cultural consortia; Visiting Arts ran a roadshow of seminars on intercultural and international working.
This seminar provided cultural operators from the arts and heritage sectors with first hand experience, information and advice from Visiting Arts and key regional and national speakers.
EUCLID CultureEuro seminar
The Point, Eastleigh

This seminar is in partnership with EUCLID and caravan. The aim of the session was to provide the latest information on European cultural co-operation & funding opportunities for 2008. Focusing on the role of international dialogue in response to the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue 2008 the seminar covered the breath of European partnership and funding opportunities available to SME’s.
Touring abroad seminars

The aim of these seminars was to enable participants to acquire the necessary information and planning details required for touring abroad. Over the course of the day Gary Hills helped companies develop a clear view of the issues involved in working overseas.
British Council seminar
New Greenham Arts, Newbury

The British Council connects people with learning opportunities and creative ideas from the UK to build lasting relationships around the world, in this seminar Andrew Jones talked more about the networks that can be established overseas.
Interreg, UKti & Arts Council seminar
Arts Council Offices, Brighton
13 March 2008, 10am-4pm
There was three components to this seminar with the main focus being to equip companies with the skills to gain funding and so helping them to increase their international experiences.
A representative from UKti was there to suggest business strategies and approaches to working internationally. UKti is a government organisation dedicated to helping companies achieve their full international business potential.
A spokesperson from Brighton & Hove European Team talked about on Interreg IV A which is a European Union funding programme that supports cross-border co-operation projects between neighbouring regions. The programme allows areas that are divided by a border to work together in a variety of fields.
An Arts Council officer outlined their Grants for the Arts programme and gave advice to those companies seeking funding.
